I got the cheap Vista for $29.95 and at 45 it takes me for a ride on these back roads.

Ian, take a look at Gadget's fixit page for a do-it-yourself alternative electronic cruise control that costs a fraction of that one. You'll have to fabricate or find a little plastic vaccuum resivoir, but other than that it's pretty much off the shelf.

Ive been toying with adding the Audiovox cruise, it seems like a decent unit for the price.

Yeah, cruise control is not for me, but though the instructions look long and involved, they're really not that bad once you read them. Sometimes the simplest things just take a lot of words to describe without ambiguity.

If you made the vacume cannister in advance and mounted it, the rest of the installation would be not to bad. Like you said Cadd, a whole lot of words to describe it.

Not for me either. I don't use the lock much, except to light ****** and rest my right hand.

Looks good CaddmannQ but i think its a bit beyond my capabilities :-/ I'm not very comfortable when it comes to messing with the wiring.

Well if you could find a mate who was capable it'd save you several hundred pounds stirling.

In spite of what Lucas has been sending us for the past century, there must be one able bike electrician in all of old Blighty somewhere. ;)

I have used the Audiovox cruise control on many of my street rods but never on a bike they work great. That is the main thing I miss about selling the Goldwing.

Here's an universal electronic cruise that doesn't require a vacuum cannister. $265 but may be an easier install. Also some info on Motorcycle cruise.
