Sometimes I wonder how many of the new jobs created are at McDonald's and Wal-Mart and places like that. The government is always boasting about the number of new jobs but they don't tell you what these jobs are.

Yeah. A "new" minimum wage job isn't much. I know I couldn't live on 5 bucks an hour even if I lived on PB sandwiches. Wait. I DO live on PB sandwiches. Nevermind.

It's not just how many are low paying, but also, how many are temporary?

Think about all the census workers in 2010, all of the temp holiday help in reatail and shiping for the holidays, the winter jobs in the cold vacation areas, the temp summer jobs in warm climes, et al.

This admin will not give a net figure, but rather an overly optomistic computer projected number of all jobs supposedly created despite their best efforts. I just read that dependance on government handouts rose by 23% in 2011.

We're still circling the drain.

We just hired a bunch of new people at Home Depot. All are temps. 180 days and gone. Really sad.

I believe that most people lost full time employment where they enjoyed a good wage and benefits. Those jobs are gone forever I think, and the new jobs tend to part time at less pay and no benefits. my wife lost her full time job with great pay after 17 years. Now she works part time for half the pay and no benefits. Real life can be hard sometimes. Too bad the politicians can't get a good taste of what they are creating.

A lot of people here that work in retail, have 2-3 part time jobs, and they still have a hard time getting hours. Some stores only give then 3-4 hours a week.

They do Gerry. They work part time, often lose their job after 5-6 years, and get a pension for life that is usually more than the average taxpayers salary.

Most people dont realize the numbers "improving" senerio the white house is touting are bogus manipulated stats.

I got laid off at 54 years after 17 years, lost my pension in the process. Fortunatley I have a skill set that I got a job about 3 weeks later doing the same thing... at half the pay, and no pension.

Now technically I'm working so I count as a job in the numbers games being played on us... but I have been working 30 years non-stop been bought and sold so many times I cant even count them and have a grand total of 4 years at a company at 57 years old... and I consider myself one of the lucky ones.

How many people out there are not so lucky and have to work 2 or 3 jobs to just survive and that counts towards the "Things are looking good" but reality aint that to the people living the lie....
