GOAT BELLY REMOVAL

Hey all you mechanical experts.......to remove the goat belly do I have to loosen or remove the exhaust system?

I just removed the exhaust on my 1500 and I still can't separate the belly from one of the pipes - clamp bolt broke off!

To remove, you can start from the rear of the bike and if very careful get it done, but I would assume you would be safer and take the whole system off so you don't break off the studs to the exhaust manifolds.

worked best for me to remove the system as a whole as mentioned then you can cut n gut or whatever you want to do.

That goat belly runs VERY hot. Get some really high temp paint. Before I removed the one on my 06 my wife said it was like sitting on a pot belly stove. No comment Nico.
