Mixing radial and bias
I believe the answer is yes.
It's the other way around you want to avoid.

Mixing radial and bias
Yes..... You can have the ft slip on a bias, and have the rear stay put on a radial, but not the other way around.

Mixing radial and bias
We got lots of good rain around 8 inches and still comin'. Lots of roads are gone in places and a few bridges went to Maine.
Slip means slip, or skid. A ft tire can recover from a bias ply slip on the ft only. Radials won't slip so well. Radials want to track straight. So having a radial slip mounted on ft with a bias ply on the back you just go down. Then the rear chases you down. From the factory the bricks, while they sucked the stock set up was radial rr and bias ply on ft. I won't have that non-sence personally and I don't, with a Dunlop 251 radil on ft, and a SP 5000 radil on rear. My next rear might be the same, but my next ft will be a Cobra. I rode Flavors 07 while he rode mine and I liked the trie grip he had better than what I have. We run the same rear tire.

After getting good advise from you folks I fxxx it up. I ended up putting a bias E 3 on the rear and kept my Avon Cobra (radial) on the front. I have put 3800 miles on this set up but will change to a front bias before riding again this spring.
