Made some licence bracket bolt caps, and handle bar mount caps out of brass. After polishing them I treated them with clear coat. Just something different.

John, you never cease to amaze me with the quality of you work........ I do have one question though, Does the clearcoat stick onto the polished surfaces good?

I do wish that my work would let me do some side "government work", because you give me a lot of inspiration for new bling.

Thanks guys..yes it is nice to be able to make your own stuff especially when the imagination runs wild...the clear coat sticks no problem..I use engine clear coat...good to 500 degrees. It makes it easy to clean..no more polishing afterwards...John

Where do you buy engine clear coat? Is it available at local parts stores?

I think I got it (long time ago) at walmart. Most paint stores should carry it. I found the high heat engine clear won't crack or yellow. Several yrs. ago I clearcoated my hwy. pegs and mounts. They get hit by road crapp all the time and they still look good.

All you have to do now is copper plate the trim ring around the speedo and the screws that hold the tank nacelle. Just saying. ;)
