Clutch push rod seal

Anyone know where I can get some good instructions on how to replace it? I could find anything on gadgets site. Maybe I just didn't see it?

My buddy's 1600 classic is leaking on the left side and from what I've read, the push rod seal is most likely the culprit, right?

Thats most likely the problem, you will have to remove the LH engine case cover to get at it and see for sure. If its the seal just pry out the old one and install the new one.

Remove the left side floorboard, shift levers, and side cover. The seal is directly behind the clutch slave cylinder. Hopefully it slipped out. You can clean it up and reuse it with gasket adhesive. Don't push it all the way into the crankcase. There is no lip or shoulder to prevent that. Just seat it flush with the outside of the crankcase. If it slipped into the crankcase, you can attempt to pull it out with the pushrod remaining in place. Maybe with a piece of stiff wire. If you can't pull it out, it will remain on the pushrod and not hurt a thing. You'll just have to order a new seal to replace it. The part # is on the front bevel gear fiche.

Old or new fill the engine side of the seal well with molly lube cv joint grease. Then clean the outter side that seats in the engine case well and the engine case itself well, Use an engine gasket adhesive. Drive the seal flush as stated.

Adhesive is not silicon gasket glue. You want to glue that seal in place. Some glue in the engine case hole and some on the seal side edge.

Had same leak a few years ago. No problems since the fix:
