CT question for the heck of it..

OK, after 35,000 miles my Dunflop SP5000 is getting kinda bare.
My bike is a 99 Nad. I thought about going with another tire so I'm axing this question... Should I stay where I am or should I try another brand?
I figure it wouldn't hurt to make a change.. ME MAKE A CHANGE!???

I've been considering this one. I read somewhere that it is a rebranded Continental.

I like the fact that it's a 65 series to correct the speedo a bit more.

Barum is a joint venture of the Continental AG. Barum was founded in 1924 as a manufacturer of soles for shoes and did not begin tire / tyre production until 1934.

Found it.

The tire pattern doesn't impress me much.
I like a good grooved tire...

In all seriousness your only losing tread because of the color of your bike. We all know that red is the fastest look, green well it gets the fat lady award. Little rough on the shoes

Compare my red bike to a bleeding hemorrhoid in an email will ya? :'(

My thoughts exactly. I got about 32K out of my Dunlop SP and I replaced it with the same thing.

Why switch..... well that's why he tried the car tire in the first place!!!

I know, I know - the difference is that this tire gave the prefomance (or life) that he was looking for while the bike tire didn't..... but If folks on here have tried a couple different tires then why not? Heck - I'm more then happy to let you guys try a few other types of tires......
you can be my test pilots!

CT question for the heck of it..

Wompus, You made have read the thread on Bridgestone EL400-02 195/60 I recently installed. IMO much better tire than the Dunlop SP which was my first car tire. Seems like a softer tire than the Dunlop so I doubt it will get as good mileage but it handles like a dream.
If you want to see it, or ride my bike, get up to Blairsville and check it out......or I'll meet you half way.

CT question for the heck of it..

Wompus,

I have the Continental Vanco 2 on mine. At ES last year, CheapB (VROC) looked at it and said "Damn, that tire has lots of tread". I have run it about 8,000 miles so far and it looks new.

Good replies... I gave it some thought and I'm gonna stay with my Sp5000.
I guess it has proved to be a great tire and the ride was great too.
Just thought I'd get some feedback from you on it.

Red Nomads.. yep I'm right... they look like bleeding hemorrhoids! <GMAO>

Or... Even red Nomads bleed green!!
