As I am approaching one year of owning my Nomad, I thought I'd share a list of things I've learned.
1. The Nomad is a solid, dependable bike for just about every situation.
2. The Nomad has more room and style than another popular bike, Harley David something.
3. The Nomad will make all kinds of noises that will make you think the bike is going to either fly apart or sew a patch on your vest. This is normal and meant to separate dedicated riders from weekend wimps.
4. It is possible to scrape the floorboards.
5. The hard bags are great. However, kids will scratch the crap out of them. Let the kids do it while they want to ride. Later you can have the scratches to remember the good times.
6. 5th gear is overdrive and it will remind you of this.
7. There is an oil screen.
8. Nothing is as easy as it looks on you-tube (debaffle)
9. A 3/4 ton truck is handy to pull your right side baffle out if stuck. (I know, I know)
10. Wisconsin grasshoppers manufacture great backrests
11. OEM does not stand for Office of Exceptional Merchandise
12. If you are going to post a problem on KawaNow, take a pic or video
13. If the wise men and women of KawaNow disagree on a method, they're both right. Choose a side and move forward.
14. The death wobble can be fixed
15. There is a wizard named Gadget
16. Cam chain tensioner extenders
17. Judge's washers
18. Meanstreak springs
19. When you ride your Nomad up to a nice restaurant or establishment while wearing a sleeveless shirt and leather, people cannot and will not stop staring in envy of how great your life is. Enjoy the well deserved attention.

20. KawaNow members are the most helpful people on the web. I'm looking forward to meeting them in Maggie Valley next month.

Thanks everyone for all your help, advice, and wisdom this year!

#9 explanation, the truck should stay stationary. Vise grip the baffle, thread a strap through and attach it to the truck's hitch. Gently move the Nomad forward. If gently doesn't work OR your temperment can't take it anymore, jerk the heck out of it. After all, if you don't get it out, you have to buy a new exhaust. BTW, did I tell you guys that I debaffled my Nomad after church today?

Love your list. It'll get longer. Spot on about the folks on the forum. Although, I think some of us may be going through our second childhood (racing a sportster, Mitch?).

Oh, and I don't have a biker costume either, but I got some leathers that saved my a$$ while kissing the pavement at 45-50mph.

The list is right on.

A slide hammer works wonders on getting stuck baffles out. I know.

The secret ID signal is to whistle like a Nomad gas cap. We'll know you. ;)
