Has anyone ever used one of those trucking companies to haul your bike long distance? Comments, etc welcomed.

No, I ride my bike wherever it goes. I would only consider something like this if I was moving cross-country and couldn't ride due to weather. That would imply moving to a cold climate, which ain't going to happen.

I bought a bike in Michigan from a dealer and had it shipped to Virginia by Haulbikes. It arrived safely and I rode it home from the parking lot where I met the driver after he called me. The truck was loaded with everything from goflcarts to choppers and all securely tied in.

I bought my Drifter from a guy in California and had it shipped here to New York State by JC Motors. http://www.motorcycleshippers.com/ It cost $750. They picked it up ay his door and delivered it to my door.

Looks too expensive to consider this option. Trailer or ride it. Time will tell. Thanks.
