Mustang Seat for 07 Nomad

I'm hoping someone can help me, I just purchased a new Mustang seat with rider backrest and while I love the comfort, the seat is a poor fit. It seems to want to go under the tank however when seat is inserted properly near the tank the bolt hole & mount are out about 1/2". When I move the seat back to bolt it down the front is loose and quite sloppy.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you rectify it?

Is it possible to move the mounting bracket (bolt hole bracket) rearward about 1/2" and then re-rivet?

Model # of seat is 79350
Thanks folks
Mike in Ottawa, Canada

It sounds like you may have the wrong seat, have you checked to verify that you have the correct p/n saddle? You should give Mustang a call and tell them, perhaps it was labelled incorrectly.

I have a 07 Nomad with a Mustang seat with rider backrest. I do not experience the issues you documented.

I had a 2007 with a Mustang seat and did not have this problem. Moving the rear seat nut is not the solution.

Post a picture of it and we could let you know if you have the right seat.

Thanks to everyone.. I've asked Ike at Customer Service to verify the serial # of the seat and hope to hear back in next few days. Thanks CJ for that advice on the serial #s.

Jared, I'll get a photo of it and post in next few days. Thanks
Mike

Oops, it was Steve that gave me the info on part #. Box and label on seat show 79350 as the part #.

Ike from Mustang called and advised that it appears that they installed the wrong 'nose' bracket and it managed to get thru their inspection without being discovered. Mustang will be repairing their mistake and paying for all the freight charges. Good service, unfortunate it had to happen.

I'm glad you got the problem ironed out. What you were saying in your original post just didn't sound right.

I have a Mustang seat (front and back with backrests) and it fits perfectly. Yup, you might have the wrong version.

Thanks to everyone for the help. Mustang now has the seat and will be installing the proper nose bracket on the front seat, and returning to me in Canada. They are excellent to deal with and I'd recommend them to anyone.
Thanks again.
