Anti-glare

For those of you that have a GPS or other device that you look at outside, I'm wondering if you've found a product that covers the screen and stops the glare.

My GPS, although not for motorcycle, screen sometimes is almost un-readable in overcast days. I'm looking to put a anti-glare film on it but I'm not sure if they work well..

Brad

Brad, this what I bought for mine. I haven't been out riding with it but it looks like it'll do the job. I'm not sure what the film prod. are like. Maybe both. Do you have a link for the anti glare film?

I've found if I angle the GPS down a little eliminates most of the glare.

I am glad Brad asked this question as I have the same problem.

One question I have about this product is will the GPS unit fit back into the holder/mount after putting the shield on.

In my day we used maps and stopped and ask for directions! When the sun glared on the map we blocked it with what God gave us. OR DADBURN HAND! Your hand got sun burned, but dog gone it we made do with what we had 'cause we had to, AND WE LIKED IT!

Anyway, them boxes hooked to the handle bars ain't natural, you're looking for trouble scooting down the road listening to satin's voice coming out of that thing giving you directions thinking your COOL. I'll tell you what ain't cool...... HELL ain't cool! Snicker if you want to! Mark my words, one day you'll find yourself on the road when all of a sudden his voice tells you turn right in five hundred feet and find the gates of hell yawning at you! Then you'll wish you listed to Kawhead

I think you got a good point. I only use mine in the model that shows my speed. So, I look at it about as much as others might look at their spedo. I also like to track my "av speed" " Trip miles" "time stopped" etc. But, there again, I do not look at that stuff when moving.

I will report as soon as the sun shines here on the wet coast. Looks nice out today, but I'm not riding yet.

As far as the GPS fitting in the holder with this shade,....no prob. The shade Velcros to the holder. You stick Velcro to the mount and the shade [ which also has Velcro, then attaches easily to the GPS mount. Does that make sense? It works good in that regard. I'll let you know about the sun blockage from the screen though.

I saw one of the velcro mounted shade blockers Ricky and I wondered how well it would work and if it stayed on tightly.. I'm hoping just a "film" over my screen will work.

Someone, in another GPS thread, posted a picture showing how they had made a sunshade out of a small plastic container.

It was a small rectangular tupperware tub that they cut to fit. It looked as good as a store bought version when they were finished.

Mike, I think you need to go easy on the Robitussin, buddy!

The glare is from Brad's crisply pressed riding shirts.
