fairing windshields

I am in the process of mounting a fairing I am thinking of upgrading the w/s possibly shaded, My question here is how dark . the other ? is how many of you have the w/s with the swoop @ the top to deflect air and how effective is it plus how tall should a guy go. I am 6ft tall if that makes a difference. Any opions, knowledge or educated guesses would be appreciated. All uneducated guesses are not needed as I am extremely good at that myself,
Thanks

Ideally you want to look just over your windshield for your height I estimate about a 6-8" windshield. The darkness of the tint is a personal choice. I prefer clear because I ride at night a lot and it helps in the rain.

I'm 5'11 and use an 8" shield. I just look over the top of it. I have the clear but wish I had got the light tinted one. Mine doesn't have the added swoop to it.
