Demoed a 2011 Nomad today

Kawasaki had their demo truck in town this weekend so I stopped by to demo a Voyager. Couldn't sign up for a Voyager since they were all booked up but was able to ride the new Nomad. That was the first time I had ridden a 1700. I was impressed with how well it rode. The seating position was more comfortable than my 1600 but wow, were those gears loud when shifting. I thought mine was loud but these are really loud, made mine seem quite. I thought the bike handled really nice, turns seemed easier. The bike felt lighter, I also felt like I was sitting on top of the bike instead of 'in" it. Nice bike overall, wish I had that seating position and cruise control. Now I want to ride a Voyager even more. I heard some of the Kawa folks talking about being in Maggie Vally so maybe I can ride one then.

They had a lot of bikes there today to ride. I believe they had one of everything, some more than one. They at least had a nice 20-30 minute ride so you could really get the feel of the bikes. When Harley does their demo day's the ride is just around the block.

Not here, Ive been on a few Harley demo rides and its also a 20-30 minute ride. The only thing is unless you get there early to sign up for them you either have a 2-4 hour wait or you miss it all together.

Glad you were able to ride the new Nomad. Guess that is nice to be able to do.

Living in a small town there has never been anything like that so I have never taken a demo ride. Of course I'm probably on my last bike so no need for a demo ride now. I'm perfectly content with my Nomad unless of course I hit the jackpot or the lottery.

Demo days are fun. I went to Victory's a couple years ago. I am hoping to go to Kawaski's in early August. The calendar is on their website.

I've been spoiled. At Americade there are usually 14 manufacturers offering demo rides. I've ridden lots of different bikes.
Ring, if you get a chance to ride the ZX14, besides the obvious I think you will be surprised with the suspension.

The wife and I went over to the demo rides as well this weekend. I rode one of the 1700 Nomads and my wife rode one of the 900 Customs. Wish I had rode one of the Vaqueros, but they also were booked. I too noticed the noise of the gears and also the one I rode seem to shake a lot while rolling on the throttle at cruising speed. Overall it was a nice bike, but to me, my 01' 1500 felt more comfortable when I got back on it.
Also, my wife really liked the 900 Custom too. She may be upgrading from her beloved Honda 750 Aero in the near future.

I believe Kawasaki is only bringing Vulcans to the rally. Vaqueros, Voyagers and maybe a Nomad.
