Applying anti seize - follow up ??
I have never used anti seize.
I picked some up at the local NAPA store. It is a NAPA brand and in a tube. How do I apply it? Does it need to completely cover all threads?

Yes I would apply some to the threads and then spread it all over them with your finger. At least that is the way I did it.

Should have mentioned di-electric. It also comes in a small tube. Good idea to put a drop of it on the other end of the spark plug where the boot fits onto the plug.

Pretty much what Gene said, I usually apply anti-seize with a qtip, because I don't care for the smell of it and it is hard to get out of your skin.

Yep, just use a small amount, and put it on what threads will be engaged when you screw it in. A little goes a long way. I use a small paint brush (like for making pin strips), and it is hard to get out of the pores of your skin.

If the container doesn't have a brush I would use a flux brush for applying flux paste when soldering. Keep it off your skin.

The tube does say "avoid contact with skin" = so I will to that.
What is "di-electric" and what does it do? And, txs for the good advise = it is always appreciated.

Die Electric Grease. Use it on the boot of the spark plug (Like Brylcreem) a little dab will do you. It conducts the spark but keeps water out. Pretty cheap stuff at the local auto parts store.

I use a q tip as well on things like plugs, it helps keep the elecrodes from getting slopped up with the stuff.

Does anti seize always come in tube and be a past. Or can it be a liquid?

Its always a paste, I usually buy it in a can with a brush built into the cap. Permatex makes a decent product.

Don't OVER do the anti-seize. Just enough in the threads to do the job. You're wanting to keep the steel threads of the plugs from seizinig to the alloy material the heads are made of. As those who have used the stuff have mentioned, it's tough to get off your skin. I have a plastic jar that has an applicator brush built onto the cap that I bought in from a NAPA store in1986. I still have two thirds of the silver stuff left!
