Be warned when parking in tourist areas

We recently went on a Mexican cruise out of San Diego. (Could be anywhere though). Arriving a day before departure, we walked along the wharf area and walked by a restaurant. In the parking lot was a cruiser motorcycle. HD?. Anyway, a group of tourists decided to take pics of each other sitting on the bike. I was too far away to confront the idiots. :(" title="" border="0"/> I was hoping the owner would be coming out. No such luck. I doubt if the owner would ever know their bike was a photo prop. Anyway, be aware when parking in tourist areas.

That stinks. He (she) had to have some new scratches on the tank after that. What's wrong with people that they think they can do whatever they want to with other people's property.

Ive seen that before myself. For some reason some people don't seem to think its a big deal touching other peoples stuff. I wonder how they would like it if I sat in their car for a while.

Be warned when parking in tourist areas

One day at a Walmart parking lot I watched from a distance as a little boy looked very closely at my bike. I thought for a minute he was going to climb on, but his dad told him to back up. Good advice.

I'd go ballistic if some adult was sitting on my bike.

What if it was a drunk, 20 something in a big poofy western dance dress with a long neck in each hand? And 5 of her drunk friends...oh and her designated driver mom telling you how hot her daughter is; all while your Missus is standing there taking this in!

Been there done that. I don't leave my bike in public where I can't see it just for that reason.

Scott you know the Walmart crowd....... an unruly bunch for sure.

Never had anyone (that I know of) try my bike on without my permission. I have had people yank the rear door and hood open on my street rod. The suicide doors and he folding hood are just too much for some idiots to resist. I have told those I caught in the act, "Old cars are like ol' ladies. If it ain't yours don't F@#% with it!" That holds true for motorcycles also.

Sitting on someone's bike is no different than breaking into someone's automobile in my opinion. Some people just have no respect for other people's property.

Be warned when parking in tourist areas

I had this happen at an apartment complex I used to live in. I had an '03 Suzuki Bandit parked right outside my apartment door. I woke up to a bunch of voices and look outside... there were about 15-20 "foreigners" looking at my bike, touching and talking about it. Before I could get out of the door, one of them climbed on it!

I did go ballistic on all of them. They tried to apologize, but I was having nothing of it. Told them if I ever saw one of them even get close to it again, I was not going to come out without a firearm!

Come to find out, they were a bunch of students from another country attending the flight school nearby and that particular apartment complex gave the school discounted housing for out of state students. Needless to say, my bike didn't stay there very long, neither did I... moved out about a month later.
