Whose skull was it? I use Aqua Net unscented hair spray. Holds nice and tight. Lots of folks use "Gorilla Glue", which isn't really designed for this purpose.

I tried at least a half dozen adhesives and none held long. I tried a couple of grip glues, Aqua net and finally came to Gorilla glue. The grip has not moved since. Little secret; clean the handlebar where the grip goes and the inside of the grip with alcohol(not the drinking kind). Get and put on a nitrile glove. Put grip on handlebar and position at the desired location. Mark grip to be able to re-locate the grip upon re-installation. Remove grip. Apply a small amount of glue to your gloved finger and coat the handlebar where the grip goes with a small amount of glue. Slowly slide the grip on to the handlebar, as the glue is pushed ahead of the grip, carefully remove glue that is pushed ahead of the grip with your gloved finger until the grip is fully seated. Align markings to position grip. Allow the glue to dry overnight. Do not get this glue on your skin. Trust me on this one. Acetone will only clean it off to a certain point.

I had my grips always come loose as well, I tried a few things to hold them on. Finally I smeared a little epoxy on the bars and that has held well ever since.

I may be going out on a limb here, but I would and have used one of many "grip glues" that are made for that purpose. Just a thought.

I've always used aluminum paint out of a spray can. It works for me.

I replaced my Kuryakyn ISO grips last night with some new black anodized ones from Avon. The clutch side grip doesn't use adhesive. It has 3 setscrews in the collar you tighten down onto the handlebars. Easy to install, easy to remove.

Now that I finally have my bike the way I want it, I am now re-modding my earlier mods. I'm so pathetic. ::)
