Anyone Ever Use Castrol Power RS Racing 4T Oil

I have been using Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 full synthetic oil in my Nomad the last couple of oil changes. Went to Wal-Mart today and it seems they are carrying Castol Power RS Racing 4T 10W-40 full synthetic oil now rather than the Mobil. Just wondering if any of you have used it in any of your bikes. The bottle says it exceeds API SL, JASO MA2. Should be a good oil, what are your opinions?

Racing oil isn't going to make your Nomad any faster, Gene.

It is fast enough Scott. I thought it might slow it down some. Any use of the oil?

I just use Rotella dino oil. Synthetic is still rather expensive here, and since these motors don't run that hot I don't see the need to use synthetic here.

Same here. It was designed for diesel engines so switching to T6 enabled me to remove my spark plugs and use diesel instead of gasoline. Slowed it down some.

What do you use to fire the diesel, glow plugs or something of that nature Mitch?

Doesn't the white beans give it gas? That seems to defeat the purpose of changing it so it will run on diesel.

to answer your question gene,i did use it once last summer when
walmart stopped carrying mobil 1.it seemed to work fine and i really couldn't tell any differance as far as shifting or engine noise
is concerned.having said that i have decided to try the rottella t6
synthetic next time as it it is a couple of dollars per quart cheaper
and it seems to be well liked by a number of members.i have been
using regular rotella 15-40 in my kawasaki teryx utv with good results also.

Anyone Ever Use Castrol Power RS Racing 4T Oil

Bob, thanks for getting the thread back where it should be. Some of these guys are something else. I just prefer using motorcycle oil in a motorcycle. It does cost more but I figure it is going to help the engine and wet clutch to perform better. Just my thought on that. All oils are expensive but since you don't change it on a weekly or even monthly basis it isn't too expensive. I usually buy a quart ever so often and then when I need to change the oil I have enough on hand to do that.

I thought I might go ahead and use the Castrol as it seems to have a good reputation like Mobil does. When I change oil come warmer weather I will let you know what I think about it.

I do appreciate you getting to me on the thread.

Rotella T6 Full Syn meets JS MA specs. Says so on the back of the jug. That makes it fully acceptable for motorcycle wet clutch applications and it does not contain anti friction components that the fuel saving synthetic oils have. My bike has never shifted smoother than it does with the T6. I spent $10/qt for the Mobil 1 full syn mc oil for 7 oil changes. No more when I can get full syn for $5 qt. Shell Rotella has been around for over 40 years and has an extremely good reptutation.

Ive never put bike oil in any of my bikes that Ive had over the last forty years. A good motor oil should do a good job regardless, especially in this day and age. If you avoid "Energy Conserving" oils it won't harm the motor. Some oils seem to hold up a bit better than others but I doubt any of them are harmfull to the engine. Regular changes are the single best thing you could do to ensure a long life.
