They're chained together.

I bet it took a fair bit of practice to get that down pat. Now they should shorten the chain up a bit at a time.

Actually Dave, they had a ribbon. Watch at the end, they part and it breaks. Very impressive.

Very impressive. I couldn't even do that with just my bike much less another bike right beside me. Bet it took a lotttt of practice and maybe more than one spill.

I've seen that one before... very impressive.

Most interesting to me is that the inside rider is always looking out and away from the cone toward the outside rider's bike; where the other rider is looking in at the first bike -- not at the cone.

Evidently they approach the cone and the inside rider cranks the bars as far as they can go and then balances himself all the way around the corner; while the outside bike just maintains his distance until they round the first cone -- then switch roles in the opposite direction.

Away... they obviously have mastered control of these bikes. ;)

That's impressive, and much like aerobatic teams. When flying in formation the lead plane is everyone's eyes, the other pilots are focused on the lead. If you remember when the Thunderbird team crashed in Texas many years ago (when they were in T-38s) that is why they all augered in, because the lead plane mis-judged and the others didn't see what was coming.

You probably could if you practiced as much as they do, and used someone elses bike.

I'm sure that has a LOT to do with it. Everyone is going to crash while learing these type of stunts.

I'll second your recommendation on these tapes.

I have the CD and have practiced what they demonstrate and can attest to it working very well. But... you have to practice it.

Once you do that, I suggest you take an advance-riders course. I believe you'll be amazed at how your proficiency will improve.

You'll enjoy riding all the better; and people will enjoy riding with you (because you won't ride like a dangerous fool). ;)

Regarding dropping your bike. They sell plastic guards that are a bit pricy for what they are; but they do work. An alternative would be to wrap your bars with pipe insulation and duct-tape.

Either way... you may need something. ;)

Maybe we could use BD's bike while he is ironing his shirts.
