Seating Positions, 1500, 1600

I have only set on a 1500, 2002 Nad. Is there a difference from the seat to handlebars between the 1500 to the 1600?

I had an 02 1500 and now ride an 08 1600 and the stock seat shape is the biggest diff, and I think the floorboards are a little bigger. I remember having to have highway pegs on my 1500 but haven't felt that way on the 1600. The major frame changes came with the 1700s.

Also...but not totally seating positon related....1600 (according to specs.) has longer wheelbase and larger fuel tank capacity.

I rode a 06 1600 classic last year and I never felt totally comfortable on it. Hard to put a finger on the problem but I felt like I was fighting the bike constantly. I am now riding a 99 Nomad which has a bit shorter wheelbase, different bar width and a much better stock seat in my opinion. The 99 has a smaller tank and you sit farther forward on it. Many would say the 1600 should fit me better due to my size but give me the 99 Nomad any day.

I ride a 1500 and have ridden a 1600 and prefer the seating and foot position on the 1500. The 1600 seat is further back from the handlebars, so for me the reach is too much without risers and I find the stock seat on the 1500 more comfortable. The foot
boards on the 1600 are further ahead, and again I found the foot position to be a bit uncomfortable for me.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Since I'm so short, I believe I need to stick to the 1500.

Mikey in Hermitage, no, I didn't get to go to Chattanooga to see the bike.
