Frogs! Disappearing?
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the lack of frogs. Or is it just in my part of the country. I saw several frogs hopping across the road tonight on my way to the store. Have been thinking of this subject for several months now. I hardly ever see frogs crossing the road or smashed on the roadway. Back through the years there were always frogs hopping on the road especially at night. There would be dozens and dozens of dead frogs on the road.
Is this just something that is happening here in north Alabama or have any of you witnessed this where you live. If the frogs are disappearing all over then we may have a problem.

Frogs! Disappearing?
I don't see many frogs around here but I think it's because they are so darn tasty.

Frogs! Disappearing?
Plenty here in Nebraska. Hey, Gene, maybe those 'Bama frogs have just gotten smarter, and quit crossing the road!

Frogs! Disappearing?
You guys are just too kind to me.
It is just something I have noticed and thought I would see if anyone had noticed or should I say not noticed frogs. When I was a teen I would find them in the yard all the time. I never see any in the yard any longer. Makes me think something in our system is killing them off.

Frogs! Disappearing?
I did a little research on the frog subject and evidently they are really disappearing.I copied this from an article I found:
Frog populations are disappearing for many reasons. Obvious reasons include pollution in waterways, surface water being drained away, land clearing, and urbanisation. Some less obvious reasons that are affecting frog populations far from human interference may include climate change, exposure to increased UV-B radiation, and emerging diseases. There are various frog saving groups popping up all over. What would Kermit say?

Frogs! Disappearing?
Thanks for taking the time to look that up. Guess I could have done that but thought I would just pose the question here. I just know that the frog population here in my part of the country has almost disappeared. Those are some good reasons I guess.

Frogs! Disappearing?
Dont forget Ferrill Cats, I used to have Bullfrogs in my pond, up till about 3 years ago they would chorus all night long.
Then the neighbor I fondly call the Beverly Hillbillies because of their managery of animals that they cant keep in their yard and stray into mine started to include pretty cats..... unfixed pretty cats. Now I have cats and cats and cats... but I dont hear the bull frogs anymore, I dont see the quail anyone, I havent seen a rabbit in a year..... Its cats and unresponsible owners letting them breed freely thats causing the frog extinction here

Frogs! Disappearing?
+1 to what waterman said.
My dog got messin with a toad the other day and I thought he was going to die. His mouth was salivating , he was panting like he just ran 100 miles and he just laid on his side lookin pathetic it took a half hour for him to gain some sort of normalcy. I don't think he will do that again. But you never know, the dumb sob will eat anything.
