Improved Handling for Nomad

I noticed something last month at my local Kawasaki dealer. The Voyagers now have a 1 1/4 inch handlebar that come mostly straight back from the mounts instead of out to the sides like the Nomad handlebars. I said, "Hey, put these on my Nomad!!! I purchase the 1 1/4 inch Phat Riser 1XV from Scootworks made for the 2010 1700 Voyager to mount the bars on my 2010 Nomad and what a difference it has made, especially in slow speed manuvers and long distance cruising.

This is very interesting. Please send pics. I have purchased a premeux fairing and I might be needing something like this to be comfortable.

How would it be for us "short armed" folks - I have very deep pockets as well.

Apparently you're right, drno; not even a response, let alone any pics. There are some *strange* folks out there.

What I dont understand is that in my years of working at a Honda bike shop (5), narrow bars did not allow steering responsivenss as well as a wider set did. U have less leverage, need more input, with a narrow bar around the pivot point. Mayby the bars are the same, but the grips are angled back more?

You need to move longer bars greater distance though. For many, the difference in leverage is meaningless. Try riding an ultra and it's the same. Short bars with a relatively steep steering angle make for quick steering. If long bars were better for quick steering, you'd see them on sport bikes. I'll also add that the overall width of bars aren't the sole factor in leverage and ease of steering.
