LED Running/Brake light circuit

What exactly does this mod do? Is it turning your turn signals into running/brake lights?

After buying the circuit from you, what else would be involved?

LED Running/Brake light circuit

this circuit lets you hook an LED type light to your bike and have them run as running lights and brake lights there are 3 wires 1 hooks to the running light wire 1 to the brake light wire and 1 to the led light your hooking to bike. the circuit takes the running light 12 volts and lowers it to 9 volts so the led runs dimmer when you hit the brake the full 12 volts is applied to the led.

Why would you have to run LED lights for this mod to work?

well unlike incendescent lights that have dual elements LED to run as running brake lights need a lower voltage to lower the brightness of the lamp. this circuit is for running leds as running/brake lights you don't need it to run leds but to run leds as running/brake lights you will need something like this circuit

Interesting. Where can you get direct replacement LED?

I have found that most leds that you buy if stated as a run, brake and tail do not require that extra circuit, it is built in

You don't need any extra circuitry to convert your brake/run light to LED.

This Kuryakyn circuit is needed when converting all your Turn Signals to LED.

See the electrical forum for a brief description of my experience converting turn signals to LED without load equalizers.

I might just be confused thouth. The circuit on Gadget's page is a different circuit than the link to Kury.

LED Running/Brake light circuit

this circuit is not to convert any existing lights. this circuit is to take a 12 volt led that you can buy at wal-mart auto zone or tractor supply that has no circuit built in to make is run at 2 different voltages which is needed to had the led as a running/brake light all it contains is a risistor and some diodes. somewhere throught the conversation and questiong someone got the discussion twisted. I repeat this circuit is to take any led light and provide 2 voltages to make the light dimmer in run mode and bright in brake mode. NOT TO CONVERT, MODIFY, OR CHANGE ANY LIGHT THAT IS STOCK.

to futher the conversation I will explain the project in which I needed to make this circuit and I will post a video that I'm working on to show. On the stock 08 licence plate frame there was a red reflector that I removed and replaced with an LED light that I bought from autozone and 4 LED bolts for my plate I connected this run/brake resistor diode circuit and the leds run dim and bright with the brake the top led cost $5 and the 4 bolt leds cost $8 and the lights are very bright.

LED Running/Brake light circuit

Think of it as simply an inexpensive way to make a standard strip light LED function as a Run/Brake. I have made up this circuit (wire/resister/shrink tube..) and have it in my tool box waiting to install it. I am planning to put an 8" LED strip under my trunk.

I'd like to add a strip of LED's between the chrome strip and the saddlebags. This sounds like a good way to achieve the goal. Now to pick the LEDs. . .

that is exactly the purpose of this circuit.
