Home built rat trike

Just thought I'd post this for your entertainment. This is my late friend Craze and his home built trike, 1970 something. The local newspaper did this little article about him back in the day. This thing would really haul. He always carried a ticket he got on this rig 105 over in a 55!

I saw pics of that years ago.... i wonder how it handeled at 105 over the limit? Don't look like it would fly anyway, which had to be good.

The first V8 motorcycle I ever saw is a homemade one made by a guy in Lethbridge, Alberta in the 90's. He mounted a 350 small block Chevy on a regular motorcycle and you don't notice the engine so much as the huge car radiator. I've seen this guy do a burn out, with 2 other guys helping him hold it up and straight, and when he winds that 350 up, it makes a very large amount of smoke.

I watched a Boss Hoss pull into the gas station across the street from where I work a few days ago. The guy riding it spent almost 3/4 of an hour trying to leave the pumps. Every time he'd get on, someone would drive in, walk over to the Boss Hoss, walk around it, and start talking to the rider. Everyone knew it was a motorcycle, only 2 wheels so it has to be a motorcycle, but they also knew it wasn't something ordinary.

I have ridden on the back of a Boss Hoss with the 502ci engine and man does that thing haul. The dealer that sells the up here offered to let me take it for a ride but at 1300 pounds it is a bit intimidating and I said thanks but no. Now a trike with a V8 I would take for a ride.

Some people are just born more crazy than others. I like my bikes low and slow!

I remember watching E. J. Potter in the early 60's at U.S. 131 Dragway in Martin Michigan. The first time I saw him I think he was running a 327 Chevy engine but it might have been a 283. It was pretty impressive.

P.S. He was a darksider, he had a car tire on the rear!
