Read a post by Ringadingh about cleaning the throttle body with sea foam. is this a spray or a fuel additive? And does this help with performance and fuel mileage of a 2006 1600 nomad.

It's a liquid fuel additive. It can be put in a squirt/spray bottle for cleaning the throttle body or by putting a small amount in a cup for dipping a toothbrush to clean around the butterflys. I use a spray can of carburetor/injector cleaner with my wife's toothbrush.

Seafoam is a liquid additive, you pour it in your tank. You can also use it to scrub the throttle bodies. For that, I prefer Berryman throttle body spray cleaner, it's easier to use.

These throttle bodies tend to get caked up with gunk. This will reduce your idle speed, eventually reaching the point that your engine dies when stopping. Using a chemical cleaner, such as Seafoam or equivalent, you scrub the throttle body bores and butterfly plates with an old toothbrush. This will restore your idle speed and the engine will run better. I clean mine at each oil change.

Yep. Look down the intake and you will see the butterfly. I have been using the Berryman Chemtool. Cheaper and in my opinion works better.

The Seafoam is best used in the tank, I use Kleen Flo carb cleaner in a spray can to clean the throttle body.

Seafoam also comes in a spray can. It states on the label that it's designed to clean throttle bodies.

When you use the toothbrush to clean the throttle bodies do you actually see any dirt come off? Mine looked clean to look at. I used a Q-tip to wipe the inside of the throttle bodies and nothing showed up.

I do the same thing here, and it makes her teeth white and sparklely.

I use O'Rielly Carb & Choke. The cheaper the better. My Nomad juss loves it!

Deep Creep is the spray that a sea foam brand penatrant oil comes in. I am not sure that is the same thing as seafoam.

Deep Creep states on the label that one of it's many uses is to clean the throttle bodies. IHowever I have no idea if it is the exact same formula or not.

I have to use a magnifying glass to read the label.
When I went to the automotive store the sales person suggested that I watch a short video that they have from Seafoam. It gave demonstrations on how to use the Deep Creep and Seafoam liquid products.

Well I am impressed with Seafoam myself. I had a older chain saw I was running and it quit in the middle of a long long gang cut on pine slabs, NOT stacked real well. That saw was some hot.

When it quit i thought it was dead, and it pulled like there was 0 psi compression. I was all set to tear into it, but saw the can on the bench.

So instead i pulled the plug and dumped in seafoam with the piston all the way up TDC.

I dumped in about 4 cap fulls and spun in the plug by hand.

Next day i turned that saw over and dumped black mung from hell. Wond in the plug took the saw outside and gave it a yank, the saw bucked and sputtered to life on the first pull blew out more black mung from the exhaust and began to hit doubling stroking like always and it still does.

I added 1 oz to the fuel plus oil and that saw runs like new.

later for grins i took out the 2 screws that hold the muffler on and then you can see a portion of piston and the ring, and it is bright and clean in there new.
