Final Drive Oil

Is there a favorite brand for the final drive oil?

I just got back from a 1600 mile trip last week and Lobor Day I'm of on a 2000 mile trip.

Time to freshen-up.

I run Mobile 1 full syn oil back there, and change it each 3,000 miles when I change engine oil. I run the same brand oil there too for CARS in10w/40 full syn, and NO 'EC' (energey conserving) lable.

Make sure there is no 'EC' lable.

It is a wise idea to add gear oil with the bike on it's side stand and a hunk of 2x4 laid flat under it. Having the bike straight up, just has too much capacity, and blows the pinion seals for it.

I’m not a chemist so educate me.
I thought the final gear took 90W gear lube.
I like the idea of changing it every oil change.
It’s not that difficult to get to.

Mike I like Mac use the Mobil 1 full synthetic 75W-90 rear oil. I use the Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 full synthetic oil in the crankcase. Yes the Mobil 1 75W-90 is what you need in the rear. It does require 90 weight for the rear.

I use any particular brand that the store carries, I doubt that there is a huge difference in gear oils in my opinion.

I also use Mobile full synthetic 75/90 in the rear..and MX4T 10/40 for the engine

Full synthetic Rear oil has less foaming the Dino oil.. so better protection.. Will it make the gears last longer ?????not sure but makes me feel warm and fuzzy :) ,, I change with each oil change

Mac I added iol on the side stand w/o the 2x4 am I too low???
I heard that straight up will cause issues ,,

I screwed up and should have stated Mobil 1 full synthetic 75W-90 rear gear oil. I change both at 3,000 miles, with engine oil changes.

I am not a chemist either and fer sartin no typist.

On the other hand I am the TYPO KING.
