My reckless install
Alex shipped my fairing pronto and she arrived on Friday so I spent Saturday morning mounting it. I ordered the stereo unit that was Ipod ready, 4 speaker set with chrome package as well as the 12V adapter. When it arrived I was not expecting the stereo and accessories to be preinstalled by Alex's boys. They did a very professional job as you can see by the pictures. Soldered connections to each speaker, epoxy securing components to eliminate vibration and items coming loose. All in all a very nice job. Mounted up fairly well but I found out real quick that this style of fairing won't work with Phat risers or even Chuckster's risers ( see my items for sale in the For Sale section) So, I'll be on the hunt for a particular set of risers that bend up and away real quick to avoid interfering with the stereo functions.
My painter buddy came by in the afternoon to look it over and confirmed that even though the front section is assembled, he'll have no problems masking everything at no extra charge. I'm also going to give him my front fender to touch up then when both are completed with the painting, he'll install the 3M product on both assemblies to help with future rock chips ( I hope anyway ) A great feature about the Fusion IP600 is that the front cover flips down and you slide your Ipod inside the stereo and close the cover. Then the buttons and screen control just like your Ipod- cool eh? No cables or Ipod hanging in your pocket. The sound is tremendous, has lots of jam and I started the bike in the garage ( Vance and Hines with UBs ) and can still here the stereo just fine. The only real adjustment to the fairing was spacing out my driving lights a few millimetres to avoid the light rubbing on the fairing. Hope you enjoy my install pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Congrats on the Reckless.. I know you will be happy with it :)
Your painter will also find out his prep work will be very little Alex does a nice job for the price. so WIN WIN!! Pica after paint is a MUST :)... I assume you have the 1600 Nomad? Rich If you have the 1500 Nomad you can use Harley 4" pull back risers, BUT they wont work on the 1600. 1700 Nomad bars do work and give a small amount of rise, Ill be ordering my bars soon.

Very nice and thanks for the pics, I have a Premeux and love it, your pics will help with my radio install project this winter... and the Russel seats are on a wish list. One question if I may, Is your tour pack a Premeux? Thanks for the info..

My reckless install
I had to ditch my Chuckster's risers as well when I installed my fairing. I am on the fence about the need to bring the bars closer, it isn't bad as it is now. If I do, I'll replace the bars, I'm not sure there's any risers that would work in this case.

In case anyone is interested, I contacted Reckless and was told that the Nomad 2009/10 fairing would be available this Fall.
