COBRA Fuel Processor Settings

Doe you use the COBRA Fuel Processor?
Have you settled in on settings?
What are your final settings?

COBRA Fuel Processor Settings

Hey Mike, I have a TFI which is very similar to the Cobra. Are you looking for a baseline to start adjustments? The final settings are usually different for each bike because of differences in the add on accessories that change driveability in different ways and so the adjustments are different. If you provide what upgrades you have done to your bike, then someone may be able to give an opinion. What works great for one may be bad for another. JM2C

COBRA Fuel Processor Settings

I do have the Cobra FI200R and it is set at 3-5-0. I keep telling myself that I will do some fine tuning but it has to be at operating temperature to set. When I come back from a ride and it is at operating temp I am usually ready to go in the house and cool down. It runs just fine at the factory setting.

I'm at 2-3.5-0 and runs really well. I've tried 3-5-0 but feeds too much gas.

COBRA Fuel Processor Settings

My ride has stock intake and stock exhaust with baffles removed.
The factory starting point for the cobra is 3 - 5 - 0.
One of the reasons I started this journey was the terrible throttle response at parking lot speeds.
The addition of the fuel processor made a big difference.
I kept increasing the first pot and it kept getting better.
When I got to a setting of 5 further increases had no effect.
Throttle response is good but not great.
I'm not sure that knowing what you folks have yours set at is a major data point.
But it certainly is helpful to have a feel for weather or not I'm heading into the weeds.

Mo, having the first pot at 5 on a pure stock bike like yours would be a very very rich setting to use. And that first pot's setting is the "active always" part of the Cobra unit's contribution to the bikes fuel management. You might want to re evaluate that?

I've replaced my hyper-c (in the sig. pic) with a ho-made filter set up that includes small internal velocity stacks and the heads have been extrude honed. I have the stock exhaust debaffled (used to have V&H duals but just too loud for me). So mine is a little more tweaked than yours.

I have played with my settings alot and actually spent some time on a chassis dyno with it. I have ended up with a compromise setting that gives me good fuel economy and flexibility in fuel choice. I usually run mid grade unless it's very hot and I am heavily loaded then I will go with premium but the bike will run on regular with no audible pinging when I need it to. That compromise setting also gives me good drivability and good performance. That setting for my bike is 2.3 / 4 / 0.

When I had my bike on the dyno the setting for absolute max power was 3.3 / 5.5 / 0.5 but the compromise setting is what I use. The torque/HP curves didn't show noticeable differences until above 3900 RPM. The engine guy had a CAD/CAM system that let him plug in the two curves and model 1/4 mile performance. He said the MAX setting meant minus less than a tenth of a second and plus about 2 MPH in the model. That is just not enough to matter to me. In everyday use I get 39-41 MPG with the compromise setting and 37-39 on the max setting so in every day use I go with the compromise setting.
And one final note. I am at sea level usually. But when we go up in the mountains if I am consistently above 2000 ft I will bring my setting on the first pot down to 2 as even the compromise seems a little rich at higher altitudes.
