Hot start issues?

I can't find that thread.

yesterday i was just doing routine maint on my 06 1600, and checked the plugs. 2 were out of spec, opened up too much and 2 were fine.

I pulled the rubber boots off the plug wires and inside one was green! :-[ I hit that with carb cleaner, and then anti water mist, which turns to a amber wax. I will have to go read the lable on the can.

That green crap could be a high resistance where it matters so it is worth a look.

The plugs are at 18,000 and look just fine. I used carb cleaner on them too, and cleaned off the mild carbon ridge at the thread start. I added anti seize to the threads as well.

It rains a lot where I live and the right rear plug showed sign of being under water. Oddly it was right front going green.

If anyone doesn't know the rubber plug resistor boots can come off, they do now.

Be dead certain the plug wires are pushed back on snug too, 2 of mine tried to pop back up. Just press and press again till the resisitors are seated fully on each plug.

The rubber boot covers should be pushed well back on the resistor ends. I forgot to look at the can, I will try to remember soon.

Di-electric grease up in there is good too.
