Which bike do you have?

There are guys running up to 195s on 1500s and 205s on 1600s.

I have a 185/75/16 on my 03 1500.

My bike is a 01 1500g , i installed the 160 on it and it rides fine so far, but Iam going to wait and see how it does with a little more wear on it , and see if it wears good or not .

The 1500's have a 3.5" rim whereas the 1600's are a 4.5" rim, Thats basically the only differrence. You can go up and down in tire size a little bit, depending on your needs.

Same here. Second one I've had, except first was the Metz and it was good for about 15K. Current one is at 12K and easily good for 3-4K more.

If you want to stay with the bike tire consider using a Valkyrie tire.

The 180/70/16 will easily fit. And should correct most of the speedo error.

Speedo error vs an extra 6-8K of wear - hummmmm.

So, what are the advantages/disadvantages of different size tires?

A taller rear tire corrects some if not most of the speedometer error. When I'm doing 70mph very few cars are passing me now. Before I had to keep the speedometer between 75-80 indicated to stay with traffic. there is no feeling to "upshift" to a "sixth" gear now with my 2" taller truck tire.

Wear is another consideration. Like BD sort of I run a car tire. I did it for wear only. It mimics stock height so I still have 10% speedo error, but I don't pay any attention to the speedo. Just don't care what it says, and if I must entering a school zone I just do the math.

I am grate full it is 10% which makes the math easy.

Stump, the largest possible tire you can run is 195/60 R 16 which is a car tire, the 180 wide is it in a bike tire since the carcass is rounder.

The 1600 is another critter altogether.

I am running a 180/70 on my 05 1600....no problems...it did correct my speedo to within 3 - 5 MPH against a GPS at highway speeds (75 - 80).....but of course I don't do anything over 70 mph on the interstate
