Re: Read This
Sorry Trip but I don't think this part of the forum is necessary. I have only read it one time and made a comment about the writer's position, and it will be my last time. There are lots of places for discussions and I like the having this forum as one that just deals with Nomads and Voyageurs. Riders can share information on bikes and trips, make contacts and can attend rallies. Discussions that can be volatile, or touch to a person's core beliefs are best shared in oral form as we all know intent can be difficult to communicate in an email. Let's tick to topics about our motorcycle and the fun riding them.

Re: Read This
I thought about this post before I decided to respond to it.
This forum was created as a place to discuss the things outside the other forums. As stated at the time I believe there were some who didnt want to participate or even see the posts for whatever their personal beliefs or values were. And I agree with Trip's statement I saw one time..... if you dont like what you see dont go there, if you dont want to participate you dont have to. He has set up several other forums including one for jokes... which dont deal with as you put it "motorcycle and the fun of riding them" topics. Please do not be offended by my response as it isnt meant to offend anyone or anyones beliefs. But I do know that sometimes if all you have is MSNBC as your source you might not be getting the "whole" story and by discussion in here you get to hear many sides of the same story once someone brings the topic up. Closing the door to opinions or truths or even non-facts you would choose to ignore because they might offend someone is why our country is headed down the road it is on now. IMHO.....

Re: Read This
NriderUSA did a pretty good job of explaining it, but the NNR-OMT area exists so "Not Nomad Related" or "off topic" (meaning not related to motorcycles) discussions can exist without being mixed in with the motorcycle related content. If you don't want to read them, then I suggest you steer clear of this area of the forum.
We know not everyone wants to read this stuff, so that's why we devoted a specific place for it. Individual self-control is far better than blanket censorship.

Re: Read This
This is all well explained in Trip's "You Might Want to Read This" post. It can't be missed sitting right there at the top. If you don't want to read or participate in non-motorcycle related discussions, don't enter that board. I have been a member of forums where porn was allowed to be posted in a dedicated board. I didn't want to view it so I didn't enter that board. Pretty simple.

Re: Read This
I have this thing called winter.. This room allows me something to do when i can't ride. it also helps me understand things i wouldn't be aware of, since i see practicly no one most of the year. I live very rural, and if this room goes away, I would be at some loss to banter around, maybe even argue a point on other than bikes.
I like bikes and other machines as well as anyone, probably more since i used to be a crack tech, but i don't live and breath bikes to the emmision of all else. If this room goes because men can't be men and must be boys then I will have to go too. This has nothing to do with the current situation. Everyone here with any sort of a post count knows how off topic I can get. Some guys like it, some don't but ya git what ya git. Once a guy here who will remain nameless unless he stand up and ID's himself took me for a wild fool. On that he was right, but in time he decided i was worthy of some due and for it I git a little earned respect and so does he from me. I only do main topics and the garage plus here. mostly I go way off topic in here, but will in the other 2 rooms. I would suggest to those who have no use of this room to not bother reading in it. If you have a hide made if silk then just stay out. I have no idea what my post count is, but what ever it is I never once complained to Trip or any mods about anything. I really only have time for oine Nomad site and I like this one. But if those who don't like this room and basicly don't use this room have it made gone i will be as gone. Maybe no one cares. I respect men like Yellow Jacket, NriderUSA, Old Fart! ![]() So if you don't like it stay out. I am a little hard ass wild cat too, not so much here, but life hasn't been very kind to me. I have seen lots of things in life where the system failed and I have been hurt by this system, and I like a place to vent. Maybe it will stop me from going postal one day. Just one of these things is that Easter 99 my father in law and his 2nd wife were stabbed to death. The cop shop was with in eye sight, and the Fire Dept beat them to the scene to wash down the gutters in the street where they both died. Ever wonder who gets to clean up the blood from 2 loved ones inside the home? Loved ones stabbed in the teens of times each? Well I know. Blood on a black leather chair is invisable almost, but it sure ain't when yer sis in law sets down in tears, wearing white slacks. Want more I got lots more... Sure take this room down yeah that's a great idea. This room literally keeps me from Declaring War on the USA, and runnin' around nailing leaden plates to trees declaring I't's Mine for so far as i can see! If I do that it will make a lot more than the first 15 minutes of news. I can and do start fire with a bow drill.

Re: Read This
I personally enjoy this thread very much. It is a place where you can post most anything that doesn't deal with Nomad's or motorcycles. I have probably posted as much here and lighter side as anywhere. If a person doesn't want to participate on the board then just don't go there. The same with the lighter side. That is why there are different boards. I don't check them all out but they are there if I want to look at them. No one forces you to look at anything. I love my Nomad but there are lots more things to talk about and I enjoy it all.
