Yeah, I replaced my 2007 seat with a Mustang seat w/rider backrest.

2007 Driver Seat Modification
I've kicked the idea around for quite a while. I think that if the was a extra inch of room before the rise behind the drive started I would be more comfortable. Thought about going in and cutting the foam out a bit to move things back a bit.
Thought about taking the top inch or so off the driver pad and maybe put in a memory foam insert ? Think I could find someone who wants to sell a OEM 07 seat for $50 so I could experiment? What you thinking about doing?

2007 Driver Seat Modification
I thought that the seats on my 99's were much more comfortable, and I still had a 99 seat in storage, so I used the foam from it thinking it was better foam.
I went to a thrift store and bought an electric knife, and carved out the 99 seat foam to fit the 06 seat pan, then carved the top to a shape the more closely resembled the old metal tractor seats, thinking that they had hit upon a shape that worked well all day without any foam at all. I ended up with what to me is a much more comfortable seat than my 05 or 06 seat was. One problem that I have and haven't fixed yet, is that I underestimated how smooth the foam has to look to not look lumpy when you stretch the vinyl back on. I've heard of people using sanders etc to smooth it out, but I was planning on going to a guy that refinished a trunk backrest and having him put the vinyl back on and figured he'd put a thin layer of foam or something to smooth it out. I caught him at a busy time, and he said he'd just hurry and staple it on for me (I didn't have a strong enough stapler to get through the pan). He just stretched the vynil on and stapled away, so right where you sit has some lumpy looks. If I cared enough I'd fix it. It's comfortable, and that's what counts. If I were doing it over though, I'd make it more smooth than what you can get with an electric knife. I'll see if I've got some pics that show it. (Edit for photos) I didn't find any pictures that shows it very good, but side by side with another 05-08 the shape looks a lot different. ![]() Here is the shape I thought must work ![]() Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Do your butt a favor, send your seat to Daylong. Then you will be able to enjoy all day on the bike.

2007 Driver Seat Modification
there have been a few guys on the board who have or have had
thier stock seats modified with mixed reviews.i know some sent thier seats to mean city cycles.my best advice would be to buy a quality aftermarket seat and be done with it.i can easily ride multiple 500 mile days on my ultimate seat without it being a pain in the ass.

2007 Driver Seat Modification
Not a seat modification per se' but on my recent long ride I bought Under Armor bicycle shorts from the sporting goods store and they were great. Eliminated all of the usual chaffing and itching. :)
