Two Nomads Passed By Where I work

Not sure if this if the correct location to post this, if not please correct. I was at work yesterday at K-Mart at the junction of US Highway 431 and Alabama Highway 75. I work in the garden section and Highway 75 runs beside the garden section where I work. I noticed a tan colored Nomad heading north on 75 and this is the second time I have seen it go by heading north on 75.

The other was what appeared to be sort of light maroon color heading south on 75 heading into Albertville, AL. This one had some great sounding pipes on it. I know I heard it close to a half mile away. This is the first and only time I have seen this bike. Did I say it sounded great? I wouldn't want mine to be that loud but it did sound good.

Just wondering if the riders and they were both running double are members here on the forum.

I met a guy on a tan Nomad in about 1 1/2 yrs ago in northern Alabama at a Ruby Tuesday's restaurant. He was heading down to Florida with another guy on a HD. His Nomad was decked out with about everything you could put on it except a fairing.

You know what I find interesting? That we get all excited when we see another Nomad. If they were like other belly button bikes it wouldn't be such a big deal when we see one. It's like, "I wonder what mods he /she has come up with for his / her ride. Just one of the many things I love about riding a Nomad. You have to be a thinker and a tinker to make even non-bike stuff work for you. And you don't meet yourself every time you take a ride.

I have met and heard a few Nomads and have been near a road when a Nomad has gone by. Never have I heard one that sounded like this maroon colored sounded. Man it did sound great. Just don't know if I would want mine to be that loud.

Gene, you need to get over to Georgia and go on a ride with VulcanE and dkdixie. They both have the V & H pipes with the Ultimate baffles. They really sound nice!

Dennis, you just never know. Bob, I sure wish I had the time to get over to Georgia and do some riding. When I wasn't working I had plenty of time but no money. Now that I am working again I have money but no time.

What a curse Gene. I no longer work, but wonder how I ever had time to.

Gene, I know exactly what you mean. I was unemployed (laid off) for the past two and a half years. Had plenty of time to ride but couldn't afford it. Now, I'm working again (3rd shift) and have no time! :(
