Greetings from a noobie

Hi guys. My first post on this board.

Great to see so many familiar names in the member roster. I'm the first for NZ so I won't be seeking an area group just yet!

For those who don't know me, I'm Jazz (V#3135 and VDU#4), and I eagerly await delivery of my 2008 Black Nomad.

I ordered it a little over 3 months ago - had to be a special order as the black ones aren't marketed here in NZ.

Latest news is that the boat should have arrived in Auckland about now, so after customs and delivery down the line, I might expect it in about a week-10 days.

Just in time for the onset of autumn and winter. (But its a warm rain :-) )

Otherwise the other bikes in my stable continue to get a work-out now and then, and since my youngest son has just gained his full m/cycle licence it'll be a constant battle to keep him off my bikes!

I've done a few tourist trips to Aussie, one to Europe, and 5 riding trips to USA so have met lots of Vulcan riders, and been to lots of varied bike rallies.

I've ridden a few Nomads since 2000 in both USA and NZ and I'm ready for one of my own now - now that I'm a pensioner! No Wing for this man - I have an LazyBoy recliner in front of my TV and don't need another!

Regards, hope to meet a few of you as time goes on.

Welcome to the madness that is KawaNOW

This may be a dumb question but what does "Bucket in the shed mean"?

Thanks for the welcome guys. Not that many Nomad riders here - our country and roads tend to favour the crotch rocket and the adventure genres - although there is an active and growing cruiser community of yuppies riding the dark side.

Probably the best pictures to explain the "bucket in the shed" are in my VROC Profile: http://www.vroc.org/view_profile.php?user_id=2949

Cheers!

Welcome from Colorado. Great country you have there, and soon bike too. Toured the South Island many years ago and thought maybe I'd stay but the homeland called. I think you'll like it here, good for a few muses while you wait for the new ride. Lots of folks here gearing up for the riding season.

OK, I see, bucket means bucket racer. Not that I ever heard that term before but thanks for the explanation.
