I'm thinking of buying the power center 8 fuse block. If I do and wire it with a relay so it is switched power, then I won't need any more relays if I hook my accessories to the fuse block cause its switched power, is this correct thinking?

I just went to their site and it sounds complicated to me. It says something about an external relay. Maybe some of these other guys can help you out more.

That's correct. Power to the block is controlled by the ignition switch, via a relay. No additional relays should be needed.

I looked at those from Eastern Beaver. Seems like a very nice fuse block. Pricey but nice. I seem to remember that they are set up to be switched power on some of the circuits and the remaining circuits are always hot.

That's exactly what I did using a six point power buss installed in the top of the left side cover. 20 amp fused line from the battery to the relay and tapped the Red running light wire so the buss is switched active when the ignition is on. The one that's mentioned is very pricey. I got mine from Princess Auto for $12 and I have seen similar ones at Harbour Freight and Pep Boys.

I did use a separate relay for the Stebel Horn.

This is correct as long as the total amperage of all the accessories connected to the fuse block does not exceed the amperage rating of the relay and fuse which are powering the fuse block.

I just bought the PC8 about a month ago and wired it up. I know I could have bought the parts from other places and made my own, but I'm "electrically challenged". Installation was a breeze and I am very happy with it. It has 2 slots that are always hot, and 6 slots that are switched. I tapped into the running lights with the posi-tap it came with. It was easy, even for those of us that are "electrically challenged". I highly recommend it

I have to say, it is elegant and tidy. Unlike the author of this post.
