Bought my Girlfriend A surprise-New Pics Posted!!!

For a little bit now my girlfriend has been talking about getting another smaller bike. Years ago she had a 250 and loved riding on Cape Cod. Since then she hasnt had a bike nor could she afford to get one for herself. She is the most giving person I have ever known.
Last Tuesday I went into a huge used dealer and bought her a 2005 Vulcan 800 custom with only 1250 miles.

Surprising her with it next Saturday. Can't wait!!

I only have one thing to say:

Boy, are you ever screwed! (That can be a good thing, but a bad thing too!)

Now you get to figure out which bike is getting the chrome this month.
Now you get to change the oil on two bikes vs. one (and trust me, it's not double the fun either). Ditto coolant, and everything else each one needs.
Now you get to listen to her whine that she wants to ride, when you'd rather be taking an afternoon nap! Oh, and that works in reverse too. Bye-bye solo "me-o" time.
Now you get to buy 4 m/c tires every year or two, instead of just two!
Now you have to move her bike outta the way just to get yours out!
Now you get to wash, wax and polish two bikes too. And a double-helping of bug guts too, sir, if you please.



I bought Ann her VN900 two years ago, and every single statement above is absolute truth in my world now. But I gotta tell ya, having my girl on her own bike brings out the green and jealous envy of both the guys and the gals we ride with sometimes. Truth be told, I love showing her off to my buddies and guys at work who either don't have a bike because the wife won't let them get one or have one, but the Mrs. won't ride with 'em.

Get yourself a comm system, and it makes the "us" time even better. Trust me on that one (do not fear, they have an off switch! )

Good on ya for spoiling your girlfriend! Hope you two get lots of riding time in this year. You'll love it!

Chaz and I use the Scala II, but I know there are several different brands out there. We LOVE being able to talk during our rides.
He has some friends that claim they don't want to be able to talk to their wives while riding, but thankfully Chaz doesn't feel that way!!!!

Picked up the 800 today. After getting off the Nomad the 800 felt so small. Took a short ride and had a blast. Cant wait till Saturday and ill take some pictures.
Taranis your post is too funny. I thought of all those things already. Worth it though.
