Avon Cobras

Looking for new tires for my Kawasaki Nomad. I would like to go with the Avon Cobras. Has anyone used them and how do you like them? Any information would be very helpful. Thank you.

Next to a car tire, Avon Cobras are probably one of the more popular tires amongst those on the board right now. I put a set on last summer, and I'm very happy with them. I have about 5000 miles on them, and the rear is in great shape yet. I'm hoping they last for at least 5000 more before I replace them.

Ryan,
What size did you get for the rear. I have heard they don't come exatly stock. Are you happy with the way it rides?

As far as "Motorcycle" tires go, the full set of Cobras is probably the best I've ever had, But, I do like the Car tire better on the back. I'm still using the cobra for the front though, and probably always will. The Cobras are great tires.

I have had both front and rear Cobras. Still riding on the front one. Good tires.

I have a Cobra on the front and car tire on the rear. After a lot of searching I got the Cobra through Jake Wilson.com Best price, free shipping and great service. Ordered it on Good Friday and had it on the following Monday.

I am on my second set of Cobras...I love'em. You need a 180/70/16 for the rear, which is 1/2" larger in diameter than stock and will raise you up 1/4"....not even noticeable.

I run mine at higher pressure than most and got just under 13k on my last set. I run 50 psi in the rear and 43 psi in the front...but I believe it really helps them to hold up longer! Great tires.

This is where I bought mine....but it looks like they have gone up a bit in price since I bought my last set. The rear was $177.00...now it's $195.00.... :-[.

I've had many different tires. Metzlers Dunlop and now the second cobra in the front of my bike. Didn't like the Metzler in the rain, the dunlop that came with the Nad sucked, I had elite II's and liked them. But I put an ounce of dyna beads in the front tire and it's as smooth as silk. The cobra that's on the bike I mounted, so it might not have needed the dyna beads. I just put them in for the hell of it. The last cobra was done by a shop and didn't need any weights. To have a tire balanced that well shows quality IMPO.

The wear on the front is one of the better ones but still wear too quick.

I run a C/T on the back.

Ordered one today, it was $125 shipped. That was the lowest price I found.

I just put a set of Cobras on my '08 Nomad two weeks ago with only a couple of hundred miles on them but I'm extremely happy and very impressed with them. The difference between them and the stock 'stones is unbelievable, ride and handling is much improved.
