nomad 1600 paint

Over the winter storage the paint on the front and rear fenders bubbled up and rusted. the bike is stored in a dry garage all winter sent pic's to Kawasaki might be covered under warranty.
Any one have this problem??? April 11 the bike is 2 years old.
Kawasaki said that warranty is 90 days on cosmetic. This looks like a factory defect. I was going to buy a new 1700 but if Kawasaki gives me a hard time I am going to take this bike out to the shooting range and buy a new H-D.

With time running out on your initial two year warranty, I would not depend on letters and pictures to Kawasaki. I would take your bike to a Kawasaki dealer and have your problem documented prior to April 11th.

Id take it in to a dealer as well, don't trust emails or faxes to Kawasaki as your only bet on getting it fixed.

There is no way this should have happened! Definitely get your dealer to come through with a satisfactory resolution. There has to have been bad preparation or something defective from the factory. Good luck, and don't let them off till your satisfied.

Yes I noticed some small bubbles on my front fender but haven't looked at my rear fender very close. Keep us informed as I think I need to find out if this is something covered under the good times extended warranty

Anyway to get a pic on here? I'd like to see this problem.. You should take several pics anyway. This is very close to the end time of warrenty, and they may dink around on it.

My reason to want to see is because I wonder why this occured. If it like I think it will be, it would mean contaminates were trapped under the paint for all this time.

lastchance,
I find the easiest way to get pics on here is to use the "reply" button on that red bar just above the "Quick Reply" bar. When you use that button you'll see an area that allows you to "attach" pictures etc. Hope that helps

Sent you an e-mail. I didn't know who you were in the pm.. I see you found the How To for pics..

I think this is primer contamination and moisture was locked under the painted. The rear fender shows this better since it isn't in a road blast area.

I did get time to make a qt and 1/2 pint of maple sugar today, AND drop my battery in the bike.

I looked over my paint and this 06 is fine other than what I did last August... It still looks like this! No bad flakey rust at all. There is no light surface rust even.
