Let's talk intercom, phone, nav, bluetooth, etc...
Here is what I want to be able to do.
1. Both rider and passenger listen to my iphone via wireless/bluetooth. 2. Be able to use my iphone to take/make phone calls via wireless/bluetooth. 3. Both rider and passenger be able to communicate with each other via intercom. 4. Optionally, I would love to have a NAV system integrated into all this as well, preferably one with satellite radio. What do you all use? Any recommendations for me? Thanks Login or Register to Remove Ads |

For Intercom, I use the Starcom1 advance. I like it pretty well. If the Digital model had been available when I purchased, then I would probably have bought that one for easier adjustment. The other players are Autocom and J&M. These are all wired systems and connecting BT phone to them will probably get expensive quickly. All these systems use their own proprietary cables and hedsets and they are all very expensive. I chose Starcom partly because their cables were less expensive than Autocom and I didn't choose J&M because I didn't really need a CB and didn't really want the unit handlebar mounted.
Cardo also makes the Scala series of products. These are all BT systems and some also provide a limited bike to bike function. I believe that most are also not stereo BT (A2DP) I pair my phone to the GPS and then use wired connections for audio to the intercom system. The GPS also provides the tunes via MP3 playback. I am currently using the Garmin zumo 660. A new model with bundled XM receiver will be available shortly called the zumo 665.

Just a thought - I've tried two different wireless, bluetooth units and was unhappy with both of them. After getting over my disgust, I started looking again and finally opted for a hard-wired unit. Now what I bought is here in Germany, but I suspect that you could probably find about the same thing in the U.S. The hard-wired unit I have connects driver and pax via a small battery-powered box. I can also connect MP3 player to it as well, but I find music distracting when I ride. There are more expensive models than what I bought that also handle cell phones and GPS but it seems the more complicated, the more problems. Anyway, just my two € cents.

Here's a link to webbikeworle.com they have some good reviews on bluetooth headsets. I've been waiting for the Scala Rider G4 Powerset, but it seems most vendors are waiting for Cardo to ship them.
http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...h-intercom.htm I'm hopping to do an Ironbutt on 4-11 and wanted a set for the ride, but it looks like they won't get any in until after the 15th. The best price I have found is from Power Sport Superstore.com http://www.powersportsuperstore.com/...Code=TR21-0094 Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I have a scala rider set, got them last year for a 2 week ride with a buddy.
They are BT and he had an iPhone with him.. made a lot of calls and people often did not believe he was on a motorcycle (flip up helmet with the face down when on the phone). I used mine BT with blackberry too, very nice. Re music, the only way we could listen was to use the cord (included) to connect the MP3 /iPhone and scala. There is a new Scala out now, perhaps the music is now BT. I've not used any other wireless bike-bike systems, but the Scala were great. Brian |
