HJC IS-33 helmet

Does anyone have one of these helmets? I know it's a fairly new model.

Here's a link to them:

That is an interesting design. I do have the HJC AC-3 that is a similar shape and is very comfortable. It looks like this has a drop down sun visor too. Right now I am looking to replace my 1/2 helmet but I am interested on what others have to say.

I just bought two of these when I was in Florida last week. It does have a drop-down sun visor that will lock in one of three different settings. It'll be a few weeks before I can use it though because of the cold temps, salt & sand on the roads here.

I have one of these from Z1R on order for my wife.
The shield tucks right up under the visor when it is open.

Interesting. What does it mean "easily converts to fighter pilot style"? Does that mean there is a shorty shield that can be used for flip down sun shielding?

Not too sure what it means, she did try one on in the store before ordering the correct size. To my knowledge there is no inner shorty shield. You got me wondering now though, I'll try to get an answer to that when we go pick it up.

I have one I think what they mean is you can remove the shield and still use the sun shades. I liked it ok except the size seems to run small I have always worn a large and that is what this helmet is but it is to small so I replaced the cheek pads and still to small so I gave it to my wife and bought one like it but with out the shades in an extra large size and it is to tight also I just hope it will work after wearing it for a little bit.

I look forward to hearing what others have to say about it, that is the helmet I am looking at as well. My shorty is an HJC and I have found it to be very comfortable.

I have one. Bought it last fall. Wife was along and she wanted one too. They are great. We like them

CJ: try Helmet Harbor in Gilbert. They have them in the store and you can try them on. I really really like the drop down shield.

It sure makes riding into the sun much easier. And its the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned. Its light weight and fits really well. Did I mention I really like the drop down shield?

On another note, I found Helmet Harbor was cheaper than the SuperStore.

They are also on line Helmet Harbor .com

Try it, I think you will really really like it.

I know I do.

Motorcycle Superstore was just the quickest link to the helmets I could find. I'll swing by Helmet Harbor and check one out. Todd doesn't carry the stock he used to and I usually won't buy a helmet unless I can try it on first. HH is pretty close to my office so I can run up there at lunch.

Todd had to order ours, but I did not mind the wait. He primarily keeps models around to try on, then orders from where ever he gets them.

It was worth it for us to make the drive from Goodyear to Gilbert.

I have a head shape that only the HJC full face in XXL fits. I tried the other HJC helmets in that size and they don't fit worth a darn...

I have the full face version. I agree the sizes are a bit snug, but really like the helmet. The air vents cause some wind noise, but work well for air movement. The drop down shield is fantastic during evening and morning when the sun is low. Times when you don't really want sunglasses because the overall light level is low, but need some shielding when the road turns toward the sun. You can have it up if you are not heading toward the sun, but when the road turns and you face the sun, you just pop it down, then back up if you turn again. I think the price is good relative to other helmets too.

We just bought a pair of HJC full face CL-15 helmets in silver. They were on closeout from Competition Accessories for 70.00 each.
HJC sizes are different,; I had to go to a XL. But we both love them and are looking at intercoms now.
