Too lazy too find thread

at least i'm honest ,,, have engine noise coming from speakers, what did you connect your speakes to that got rid off noise,,i do not have a filter on it yet, have one handy but thought maybe i hooked it to the wrong power. thanks

Any power wire should work, I can't remember which one I connected to but if you hear the buzzing it could be the radio itself. Install the filter and you should be good.

thanks so much, i dont have my sirius connected yet, but when i start the bike i hear the noise through the speakers and of course it up and down with the throttle

Filter should take care of that problem. If you are getting power to it you should have it wired correctly. Otherwise you would have blown something.

thanks, i have had it on since last year, but never got around to fixing it,,, now that i'm heading to Baton Rouge next month dont want to hear humming in my ear,,,bad enough i have to listen to the wife all the way there... LOL

Actually you probably don't need a filter. I had the same issue with my J&M CB and XM radio. Turned out that I had the power leads right next to the spark plug wires. Inductive pickup caused the noise. I ran the power leads along the spine of the frame away from the plug wires and I had extra cable for the antenna and radio harness that I had stuffed in under the fuel tank on top of the engine. I pulled the fork cover off and neatly dressed the extra length in between the forks. Problem went away.

thanks i will check that this weekend, i think thats what i did (too close to plug wires)
