Do I have a problem?

Today is the first day the temperature has been up to 75 degrees since I bought my 2009 Nomad. Until today when I start it I don't touch the throttle, just hit the starter and it idles immediately. Today after it was good and hot I attempted to start it and it would sputter and die. After three times I finally twisted the throttle and it roughed out to an idle. It did this several times throughout the afternoons ride, it was not an isolated incident. Any other 1700 riders have this happen to you?
