Az Country ridin

I had a full day planned: I was supposed to go shoot with some friends this morning out in the desert but they all bailed over the last two days. I had then planned to go ride this afternoon with another buddy but he called me this morning saying his kid was sick so he had to do the 'fatherly duties' and stay home.

So, not sure of whether to take this as an omen that I needed to crawl back in bed or read the omen as offering an ample opportunity to go sightseeing, I went with the latter.

I went East and checked out an area that I had read plenty about but had yet to experience. Superslabbin most of the way got me to the rural areas; the loop starts in Superior and goes to Globe, passing gorgeous rock areas. The landscape changes to open country settings as I traveled to Winkleman and then circled back to Superior, only to return to the superslab to get home again.

It was a gorgeous ride; I had a lot of time by myself to admire the landscape and enjoy the rural sweepers and elevation changes. About 300 miles from garage out to garage in.

I included a link for photos since I can't figure how to put the image for photobucket on here (says photo moved/deleted).

That's a nice ride. I've done it dozens of times. When it's hot in the valley, that summit you go over between Globe and Winkelman is usually quite nice.

Another variation is to go past Winkelman through Dudleyville, Mammoth and Oracle, then catching Hwy 79 at Oracle Junction which takes you to Florence. There's a really good Mexican place in Mammoth and another really good one (Lupe's) at Oracle Jct.

I SO live in the wrong state! Great pics...I'm quite envious. Some month I'll get to ride again I'm sure.

What? No Tunnel Pic? LOL!

Great pics. Especially like #s 5,9 and 10. Not only show what your fafcing but give a hint of the excitement ahead. Zoom on 9 and 10 and you can see little snippets of the road ahead. WooHoo!
