2 UP INTERCOM SYSTEMS
I am looking into purchasing an intercom for my Nomad, so me and my wife or grandson can talk as we are riding. What would you guys/gals recomend for a low budget item, and any of the cudos or problems that go with it?

I have a Scala Q2 system. Really like it's capabilities. Talk with bluetooth, hook it up to the GPS so I can actually hear it, MP3 with the GPS. Downside is quality of the speakers above 70 to 75 mph. However, I did see where someone spliced ear buds for the speakers. Have been thinking of doing this.
Did have an older chatterbox system. Was ok but nothing great.

I've done a lot of research recently and had a lot of input from other forum members on this site and there is no doubt the Cardo Scala Q2 system is the best. A guy on this forum had a set for sale in the For Sale Section of KawaNow. There are several options, Team Set, Multi-Set, and a few others. Go to their website and you can see for yourself and decide what is best for you.

+1 on the Scala Units. If you don't need bike-to-bike communications, I think their Teamset would be a good fit.
Ann and I have had the Multi-Set Q2's for a couple of years now with no problems and excellent quality. The Mutli-set is made for bike-to-bike comms, so is more expensive.

If all you need is driver/passenger communications, the Cardo Teamset will work great for you. Half the price of the Q2...wireless, voice activated, and rechargable batteries that will last you all day and then some! Great product!

Thumbs up on the Scala Q2 again. I have a couple of different helmets, so bought an extra set of kit for each. Just move the unit from helmet to helmet depending on which I am wearing. The set is "duplex" which means you have a two way conversation, like on the phone. My wife and I have been using this system for a couple of years now with excellent results, highly recommend.

Thanks for all the input, I think the Team Set looks more to my needs. Does anyone use the teamset and what kind of recomendations do you have?

MY wife and I use the old chatterbox with wires. Works fine. Battery lasts all day. Inexpensive. No wireless available when I bought it. I'd go wireless next time, although in truth the wire connecting us is not really a problem. 5 seconds to connect or disconnect when we get on and of the bike. Nice thing about it is that you can get it with two headsets for $120.

At the end of your day, you just remove the power units (the mics stay on your helmets) and plug them into the recharger cord (one cord with a splitter for both units). They will stay charged for very long periods. My wife and I have made 12 hour runs on the bike and the thing has yet to go dead on us. Works great and was just the ticket fo communicating with each other... ;)!

I have J & M and works great. Only issue I have had was had to replace the upper cord from the helmets. Bought mine used.

Eastern Performance currently has the Scala Q2 for $227 with free shipping. This is where I bought mine.
http://www.easternperformance.com/pr...uetooth-MP3-FM If you enter the word "coupon" at checkout, you can get another 10% off through February 28th. I've purchased items from Eastern Performance and they have excellent service. In one case, I sent in an order on a Sunday, it was processed and shipped on Monday, and I received it on Tuesday. However, their location in Maryland is right next to Virginia where I live so it's not going to be that fast everywhere.
