VholdR CountourHD Helmet Cam

Im not sure if this has been mentioned here somewhere earlier, but it looks like a neat product for you guys that like to make videos of your rides. Take a look and see what you think.

I bookmarked that for later reference. Thanks.

I'll tell you though. If any one is looking to buy this, make sure you spend the extra money and buy the more expensive of the two models. You'll need to make sure your computer can handle large video files also to use the better model.

There is a drastic difference between the two camera's filming quality. I was not impressed with the less-expensive one ($230+). It's video was actually rather "fuzzy" at times. The other runs around $330+ and its quality is as good as you'll ever see. Full High-Def. Really impressive.

Ring, I just film with my eyes as I roll down the highway. The only problem with that is I am the only one that can watch it later.

There are a few guys on the ST forums that bought the VHoldR and have not been happy with it. Several quality related issues and free replacements later they still have issues. The general consensus from them was to get the GoPro camera. The GoPro HD was not available when they bought though.

Based on the issues they had I went GoPro HD. I have the camera and the entire unit seems to be very well made. It will shoot HD video or can be set to take a picture every few seconds.

Now I just need it to warm up and all the snow to melt so I can try it out...

For me a camera is a luxury item. If I have an extra 300 bux to spend there are usually several things that I can spend it on that I really need. Well, okay maybe things that I want/need. Helmet cam ain't one of 'em.

When the wife and I go to the Dragon I am thinking about making a mounting setup for my camera and use it to record video.
If it works great if not then pictures will have to do unless I fall into a good deal...
This Cam is kind of nice though.
