franber,
Unless you're planning on buying a new seat, like a mustang, it's slim pickings as far as getting a good backrest for your stock seat. I looked and decided on the Utopia. I just bought it and will get it next week. I had a Utopia on my previous bike and liked it very much. http://www.utpr.com/nomad1600.html Trip

I opted for the Utopia as well; have put several thousand miles on since, and I love it! The only thing that might be better, is the Mustang seat/backrest combo, but I didn't want to shell out 700 bucks for the set. As long as you have a staple gun, the Utopia is easy to install, and adjustable up/down, and front/back. Hope this helps...
