seat question for 1500 nomad owners

can someone with a 1500 tell me how the front seat mounts.
I have a 1600 and I believe the seats mount differently. Mine has a small bolt at the very rear of the seat. I have seen pictures of 1500s that were solo and I see no bolt there. Is that correct?

Any photos would be great too.

On my 1500, the front of the seat slides over a large, fender washer type bolt, and is then secured by a bolt on either side of the seat, just above the side covers. I can't do pics right now, cause I'm at work.

That's right. I left the two side bolts off, and let the rear seat sandwich it so that I could take it off to access the battery etc. without having to unbolt it.

It always stayed put for me without the bolts.

I leave the two seat bolts out on mine as well. It stays put just fine.

seat question for 1500 nomad owners

I have a 2003 Nomad 1500, same as the others... 1 bolt on each side of the seat. I'm pretty sure the 1600 is different alignment (I'm not sure about a "rear bolt". Although I usually ride with my 2-up Corbin Seat.

Yeah thanks guys. I am working with the folks at phcustoms to make a rear fender bib for the 1600s. They have one for the 1500 and at first glance looks like it might work but it tucks up under the seat about 6-8 inches and that won't work on the 1600 because of the way the seat mounts.

thanks
