12 Nights of Christmas

Don't know if anyone has heard of this before but this happened to my wife and I on the twelve nights before Christmas. I have two dogs and three cats that I have to go out and check on each night so on December 13th I went out and there was a Christmas gift bag sitting on my front porch. Brought it in and there were various gifts in it to include candy and a small Christmas tree with a partridge in the tree. There was a note explaining that it was the Twelve Nights of Christmas and told us to put the gift bag back out for the next night. On each night after that and going through December 24th there was a bag filled with things each night and it was themed along the lines of the 12 Days of Christmas.

It seemed that who did this wonderful deed never seemed to do it at the same time. Sometimes it would arrive as late as 3 or 4 AM and other times as early as 7:30 PM. This was the one bright spot for me this year and my wife and I eagerly awaited the arrival of our gift bag each night. We got lots of things that we can sit on our end tables and places so we can enjoy them all year long.

On the last or 12th night we received the most and the note that night said: Tonight there are 12 drummers drumming but only a few could come to you. They were too sad because tonight's the night all these deleveries are through. I came of Christmas Spirit in the still of the night to bring you Christmas Cheer and then vanish out of sight. The thing to now remember is --- If you have had fun, then next Christmas you pick a friend and make a mighty run. Merry Christmas.

Someone went to a lot of time and trouble not to mention a good deal of money in doing this for us. It is something I will remember the remaining years of my life. And if there is any way I can possibly afford to then next year will find me doing the same for some other family.

Just thought I would share this with my friends here on the forum.
