New Years day ride.

I didn't see a post on who went riding on New Years day...
There were dozens of bikes out here in north Georgia on the first day of 2010!
Every one was bundled up like Eskimo's but they still rode.

Montene and I had to join them for a few miles in the cold. And damn, it was cold!! Here it is 3 days later and it hasn't gotten over the freezing mark all ....year. so far! ::)
They are calling for snow by Thursday night.
What the hell has happened to all the Global Warming they have been throwing at us!??? ???

Who rode and who chickened out on the first day of 2010??
I know Kioti didn't ride... <G>

We got out New Year morning for about a 40 mile ride. It was about 45 degrees and was quite comfortable with a lined draft jacket and long johns.

New Years day ride.

Just wasn't an option here. Too much snow and ice on the streets. :-/

New Years day ride.

I could have ridden on New Years Day, it was in the 70's here. I was busy running errands with Mrs. CJ and didn't have the chance to. I took a ride on the 3rd, though.

New Years day ride.

I took a 100 mile ride on New Years Eve but didn't ride on New Years Day. The weather was perfect for my ride....in the upper 50's and not a cloud in sight.

Mike,

Not much of an option here with the ice on the road. By the way, enjoy the nice warm temps you have now.

New Years day ride.

I got out for a pretty decent ride New Years day. I rode about 160 miles, and only saw 3 other bikes. I was wanting to try out my Gerbings heated gloves that I had got from Al Strauss "Chainsaw" over a year ago........... Man those things are the "cats meow". I rode in NW Georgia, and NE Alabama.

New Years day ride.

I rode about 50+ miles, the local Abate chapter has what they call an "Ironman poker run" the first day of every new year. There were three Nomads and a couple of classics in the group.

New Years day ride.

There was a group of about a dozen of us brave souls that headed to the Texas Hill Country for a 3 day weekend on the 1st out of Houston...it was cold and we used a whole store's worth of hot hands, but we did it....generally averaged in the 50s during the days and 30s at night...woke up to ice on the seats on saturday morning.

New Years day ride.

Since I worked days on New year's day I had to get my riding fix on new year's eve. Rode out in heavy fog and cold headed for New Braunfels. Fog finally cleared coming out of Schulenburg and we blasted on to Cooper's BBQ for lunch then on to Universal City Fire Station so I could get the "U" to earn my Red Knights Grand Tour patch. Blasted back home on I-10 making it home after dark, but having logged 466 miles with good friends.
