Temporary Winter Hand Guards
In no way can I take credit for this, but since "EB" is a little challenged in the computer dept....I will provide some "professional assistance". This great idea was all his though. Maybe some of you out there have used these before, but I've never seen'em until I saw them on his bike so in my book, he gets the credit ;)!
Yesterday I rode with "EB", aka John Biddle of Mountlake Terrace, WA....and he had these really cool molded foam hand guards on his bike that are essentially made for ATV's and such. The cool thing about them is that they just strap on/off with a Velcro strap and provide nearly twice the coverage of the permanent plastic hand guards! These are perfect for winter riding as they will really increase the wind/rain protection and best of all.....they are only $20.00 at Wally World ![]() ![]() Anyways, John swore by them so I had to run right out and pick up a set (they will be found in the ATV section of the Automotive Dept). I just strapped these on right over my plastic ones and they will stay there until spring! These can easily be packed (they will lay flat) for a long haul trip in case of sudden rain storms, etc. I know, I know.....get to the pics! Check these out....they may not be the prettiest things, but functional beyond belief! Besides....we don't all have the luxury of riding in 80 degree weather all year....like....hhhhmmm.....CJ and BD come to mind....... ::) ![]() ![]() ![]() Regular Hand Guards: ![]() Molded Foam Hand Guards: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Package: PS....They come in camo too if you need to match your camo paint job.... ;) ![]()

Princess Auto here sells something similar to those but its more like a large gauntlet that your hand goes into on the bars. It would actuall cover your entire hand. They are usually on sale there for about $12.00 a pair.

Thanks for the info Kris. I have the plastic ones already and these foam guards will definitely improve the comfort factor.

Once again, I am grateful I don't have to deal with such things here in the desert.

Just curious, are these deflectors self supporting or do they need the plexi handguard or a mirror to support them.
Not much need for them in the desert (low 40s on the way to work this morning. Maybe upper 30s later this week.). I'm just thinking of Spring rides through the Colorado Rockies.

Temporary Winter Hand Guards
I too bought the Stearns hand guards to try them out. What a major difference they are. i can now ride with my reg winter gloves and NOT still have my hands freeze. They are a little big but who gives a sh*t when its COLD! :-)
