Recall on 03/04-NOMAD FI Did you know?

I was crusing around on the drifter forum and came across this.
Seems the 03/04 Nomad had a problem with oil filter.

Anyone can go onto Kawis website and type in your vin# and it will let you know if there are any recalls for your bike.

Your warranty expired on 10/09/2005.
Your Good Times Protection Plan expired on 10/09/2009.
No outstanding recalls for this unit.

Good info TC...

I learned this with my '04 when I went to buy an oil filter. Fortunately the dealer was aware of it and looked my bike up to see if it needed the modified filter.

From what I understand... the modified filter has a pressure relief valve on it. Anyway... I always mentioned this whenever buying another filter and was surprised to find out a couple dealers had no clue about it until I mentioned I did not need the special filter.

I have 46,000 on my 2003 Nomad, It hasn't blown up yet, so maybe I'm safe. Thanks for sharing.

The recall was apparently for some of 03's, not all of them. It would be wise to make sure, though. Mine had the fix, so I have to use the 'special' filter.
